Newport Independent Schools

Welcome to Newport Independent Schools (NIS). NIS and the Newport community have a long history and tradition of taking the lead in public education. From the origins of public education in Newport, with chartering of the Newport Academy in 1799 - predating public financing of education in Cincinnati by 15 years - to this year's broad expansion of preschool services for all children from birth to age five, Newport has shown, for over two centuries, a progressive commitment to our student's education and well-being.

Newport Independent is currently comprised of five schools with an enrollment of approximately 2,200 students.

At Newport Independent our focus is on the continuous improvement of the services we provide to our students and the community.
