Gallatin County, Kentucky was founded in 1798 and named for Albert Gallatin, a Swiss native who served as Secretary of the Treasury for President Thomas Jefferson.  Gallatin County was the 31st Kentucky county to be established.  It is also the smallest county in Kentucky.

Gallatin Counties cities include Glencoe, Sparta and Warsaw.  It is located on the banks of the Ohio River in Northern Kentucky and is convenient to Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington.  Gallatin County features scenic waterways, quaint communities and plenty of friendly folks. 

Shopping, Dining, Entertainment - Gallatin County is small in size but large in hospitality.  It offers various privately owned restaurants that will suit all your tastes.  Gallatin Counties largest attraction is the Kentucky Speedway, home to the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck and Indy Car series events.  Along with racing, you can also enjoy the water sports offered by the Ohio River. 

Parks and Recreation - Gallatin County is home to the Sugar Bay Golf Course, Craigs Creek Resort and numerous campgrounds.  Enjoy a day on the river and use one of the two marinas, each equipped with boat launch and water access.  Craigs Creek Resort is a 1,000 acre lake formed by the Markland Dam and offers a convenient stopping point between Louisville and Cincinnati if you approach from the water.

Living - Gallatin County, Kentucky offers plenty of that home town atmosphere.  It is nestled between Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington making it a great spot to live.  It's beautiful rolling hillsides and suburb views of the Ohio River Valley make it a relaxing place to call home.  

Schools, Health, Transportation - The Gallatin County Public School district is comprised of two elementary schools, a middle school and high school.  Three medical clinics are located in Gallatin County and the county is near St. Elizabeth Hospitals located in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties.
